Susan Owens, Central Coast Counsellor
I am a counsellor based in Tuggerah, working with couples, families, teenagers and individuals across the Central Coast. My focus is helping people repair relationships, communicate honestly and feel connected again.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor of Social Science, majoring in Counselling
- Level 4 Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association
- Counselling since 2016
- More than 10 years as a teacher's aide, supporting children and families
Who I work with
Most of my clients are couples working through conflict, distance or broken trust. I also work with parents and teenagers, blended families, and individuals dealing with grief, anxiety and depression, separation and divorce, and the effects of emotional abuse.
My approach
I am honest, direct and compassionate. In sessions I use real life examples, role plays and communication exercises so that you leave with skills you can use at home, not just insight.
I help clients move past blame, defensiveness and emotional shutdown, and understand patterns such as attachment wounds and family dynamics. Areas I often work in include recovering from infidelity, communication breakdowns, parenting challenges, emotional abuse, separation, and rebuilding emotional connection.
