Negativity the Silent Killer of Relationships

Negativity the Silent Killer of Relationships

It isn’t so much what a person says that begins to kill the relationship but rather what isn’t being said.

Negativity towards your partner and even ambivalence will silently destroy your chance of happiness.

What you focus on, you magnify.

It is easy to allow negative thoughts about your partner to creep into your mind and influence your behaviour and reaction towards them.

To get through this downward spiral of negativity, you need to check yourself before it does any more damage.

If you can focus on the negatives of your partner, why not focus on the positives and turn your relationship around?

Think about the good points of your partner. Encourage them, and validate what they do inside and or outside of the home.

Maybe they work long hours to support the family or help you with the kids.

You can also mention how good they look that day or let them know you value and appreciate them.

Check-in with your partner every day, asking them how their day has gone. Think of nice things you can do for them.

The more you build them up and focus on their positive traits you will change your view of them and build on the emotional connection.
