Families
Families are meant to be a place of refuge and security but sometimes personalities, pain and life, in general, can get in the way of this.
Some children have to live in 2 homes with 2 sets of parents and 2 sets of brothers and sisters.
Maybe in one household, they’re the baby but in another household, they’re the oldest and are given a lot of responsibility. This creates a lot of issues for them and they don’t understand their role in the family household.
Parents who separate and or divorce have their own sets of rules and boundaries or maybe one parent is more relaxed around the rules and doesn’t put boundaries down. They become the “fun” parent because they’re focusing on being the child’s/children’s best friend to avoid resistance.
Maybe you’re a family with both parents still together but there is still toxicity in the home. You might have a child with Autism or Oppositional Defiance Disorder or Attention Deficit Disorder and or teenagers. Any or all of these can create resistance among family members.
No matter what your family looks like, each person needs to be heard. They need to feel valued and a priority.
Boundaries are important to maintain harmony in the home. Every family member needs responsibilities to help the family to run smoothly. It is no different to a soccer team or football team. Each member has a part to play for the team to be successful and a family is no different.
