Every relationship has conflict

Every relationship has conflict

Every relationship has conflict.

It is going to happen. Two people are not going to agree 100% of the time but what is important is you can still remain friends and lovers after the conflict.

Often at the height of conflict, one person will storm off and the other person is left frustrated because nothing has been resolved and maybe things were said that either shouldn’t have been said or they didn’t mean.

So why does conflict erupt?

Quite often one or both people do not know how to communicate their needs.

While one person is saying what their issues are, the other person is hearing it as an attack.

Why does this happen?

It can be because of tone of voice and body language. This can affect the other person’s feelings causing them to be reactive before finding out what their partner is trying to say.

It can also be the other person’s delivery of their communication that affects the way their partner is hearing it.

It is important to listen to each other to understand rather than listen to get the next word in.
