Childhood Trauma

Childhood Trauma

When we experience childhood trauma our body stores it and we take the negative and toxic messages with us into our adult relationships affecting the way we relate and react to our partner.

Each person has their own way of dealing with childhood trauma from pushing the memories down, telling themselves they’ve dealt with it or telling themselves “That was a long time ago, it doesn’t affect me anymore.”

However, the toxic messages that are buried are still playing their part in the relationship.

Ignoring them and pushing them down doesn’t make them go away.

The painful memories need to be revisited with a professional so healing can begin, recognising the lies and that you didn’t deserve the trauma, shame and even guilt that has shaped your life.
